Opera Morgonstjärnan- Morning Star world premiere at Finnish National Opera in Helsinki,Finland 30.1.2026.
On January 30, Finnish National Opera premieres Sebastian Fagerlund’s Morgonstjärnan – The
Morning Star with a compelling libretto by Gunilla Hemming that is based on the novel with the
same name by acclaimed Norwegian author Karl Ove Knausgård.
“The story of The Morning Star, with its collision of the unfathomable, mystical world and modern
society, has been a great source of inspiration for me. The story of fear, curiosity, uncertainty, anger,
and love is timeless. It holds a mirror to us, providing a deep and powerful reflection of our society

Sebastian Fagerlund has been announced theme composer for Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra for season 2025/2026
”I look forward to future collaborations with the Tampere Philharmonics and Matthew Halls. The season 2025/2026 concerts will feature several of my earlier works. In addition, new music commissioned by the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra will be heard during the upcoming season,” says composer Sebastian Fagerlund.
